October 10th, people. Why isn't there a thread for this yet? Was there one and it's now gone or something?
Anyway, I'm getting hella excited about this movie. (and yes, I must use the word hella, because it's so lame, that it's all kinds of amusing to me) I mean, Uma is one of those women that looks hot one minute and then disturbingly weird the next. But since most women look hot when their kicking ass, I'm going to give her a big ol' YOWZA for this movie.
I wouldn't say that I'm a Quentin fan, but some of his films have entertained me at times. And hopefully, this one will be right on. I also think it's pretty cool that he co-wrote it with Uma. Hopefully, that will tone down the HEY! I'M QUENTIN! THIS IS MY MOVIE. THAT I WROTE. A MOVIE THAT IS MINE. DID YOU KNOW THIS IS MY MOVIE THAT I WROTE AND IT'S MINE. DISTINCTLY QUENTIN! feel his movies oft times have.
Any thoughts?

I'm there for both Part 1 and Part 2 (February 2004). "Kill Bill" is one of those movies I have been looking forward to all summer. It made it easier to get through some of the tripe when you know there's a shining beacon on the other side.

I'm one of very few people I know who's genuinely looking forward to Kill Bill. I'm not "drooling all over myself" excited, or anything, but I'm engaged. Anything with a crazy assassin character named "The Bride" has my vote.

I can't wait for this movie. Did anyone watch the interview on ABC Monday? It wasn't the greatest segment in the world, but it was enough to help put me in kill-bill mode. I have been excited about this movie since they mentioned it in Premiere magazine. Seeing Tarantino's previous 3 films almost back to back, I still don't feel prepared for what I'm going to see in Kill Bill. Kill Bill has the best movie poster so far this year!

I'm totally stoked to see this. However, since it's in two parts (comprising about 4 hours total? Is that right? Anybody? Anybody?) and I have a new baby poppin' out next month, I'll probably have to use both my daddy passes to go see Matrix: Revolutions and Return of the King.
*Daddy Pass - opportunity that the new dad uses to go do something cool with (or possibly without) his wife because the new baby takes up much time, and wife cannot bear to be gone for very long*
So I'll probably be out until it shows up on video. Doh!

Ooooooh, it's today! It's today! I think I'm going to try to convince druidGirlfriend to get up early tomorrow so we can see it before she goes to work. Heh. Exactly what a mental health care worker needs before a shift: lots of violent women kicking ass, death, blood and no apologies. I'm sure it will put her in just the right mood.
So excited about this movie. Which is nice, it helps dull the RotK obsession that's so hard for me to shake.

Anything with a crazy assassin character named "The Bride" has my vote. What he said. /\ I really want to see it today, since it's opening day (and I NEVER see anything opening day that isn't X-Men) but I know I can't make it, lack of funds and all. Oh well. I'll see it in due time. Until then, my other gorey Tarrentino films will suffice ... for now...

Until then, my other gorey Tarrentino films will suffice ... for now... You quote me, I quote you back. It's the Chicago Way. I actually had somehow forgotten how very, very, VERY bloody Pulp Fiction is. Yeah yeah, I know, but it had been a couple years since I've seen it. I'm flipping around the tube last night, and hit the scene where Butch and Marcellus have just escaped their bondage in Zed's dungeon, and you've got the gimp hanging in the corner and the cop on the floor, clutching what's left of his groin. Man. I totally forgot about how that scene was resolved. I just forgot. I was so stunned. And I've heard Kill Bill advertised as the bloodiest QT's ever gone for. Interesting. I'd like to hear from whoever sees it tonight from this angle, too.

Just saw Kill Bill. Totally awesome. And extremely bloody. And I was not expecting the anime sequence (I don't think that's a spoiler)- did anyone else know about it? Don't want to say to much until some more people post, but Uma was awesome as was the rest of the cast. Great line by Carradine at the end to set you up for the next film. When is it going to be released? Can't wait...
Anyway, such a fun movie, I enjoyed it a lot more than Pulp Fiction (which, when I think about it, I really didn't enjoy all that much). So definitely check it out this weekend.

Just got back from the movie. It's awesome. The gore was enteraining. I found myself laughing most of the time. Not so much because it was silly (the gore, I mean), but more because it was so over the top and intense. A fun time was had by all. Hopefully, the second half will rock just as much. I recommend this movie to everyone. Even if you don't like QT.

It's glorious. It's hideous. The movie is a gift. The movie wants to hurt you. The movie is civilization, and it has come to destroy us all. I am forever changed because of what this movie did to me, changed for the worse - and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I like to think I'm a fairly desensitized and debased individual, in every sense of the word except for that which requires actual life experience - but holy effing s**t!
You need to see this movie immediately. For the love of God, never see this movie.
In other news, "Intolerable Cruelty" was a delightful romp. Bring a date! ;D

Ok...I know I said in another thread that I wasn't interested in seeing this movie. Since opening day all I have heard is,
Friend: Come on lets go Me: No Friend: Come on Me: No Friend: Seriously lets go Me: No
Then last night my friend dropped the bomb on me.
Friend: It's got the Chigusa chick from Battle Royale in it. Me: I'll drive.
And all I have to say is.......DAMN! Am I glad I went. Very enjoyable. Oh and incase you didn't know, and you should, Chiaki Kuriyama (Chigusa) plays Go Go Yubari.

I won't see the movie for a while, but I did download the soundtrack. Yes, I'm evil. I loved it. And I plan to buy it as soon as I get some cash! It's AMAZING!

I saw it on Saturday and then I went to see it again on Monday. Full gory review is currently in the works and should be up some time soon.

Well, no, it probably won't be up soon. I think J intends to do ONE Kill Bill review page, encompassing both movies. But that doesn't mean don't get your thoughts down...
