We're being absolutely flooded with visitors from FARK.com. Someone gave MRFH a front-page link in their Thursday section, with the caption "A genius cult-movie review site. You've gotta love anybody that gives Bruce Campell a Cult Lifetime Achievement Award".
We've gone up 9,000 unique visitors from yesterday alone. Wow. Now I've got to book over to Yahoo! and make sure our bandwidth isn't going to implode.

Very very nuts... on one hand it's awesome that we got a link on a highly visited site, and hopefully we'll pick up a few new readers this way, but on the other hand, hopefully our bandwidth won't crush us (for comparison, yesterday we had around 500 unique visitors; today, so far, 8,700). I put in an order with Yahoo to temporarily expand our bandwidth if that happens, and since the link on Fark will drop from the front page in a day or so, I'm not terribly worried.
But still, kinda cool.

Wow, we were Farked? I totally missed it! Well, the front page still seems to be loading in fine fashion, so I guess we're so far, so good...
Cool.
(although an embarassing time to have The Care Bears on the front page)

Comments about MRFH from the Fark discussion page:
"Their font color hurts my eyes."
"The Care Bears movie is a cult film?"
"OMGFGKM!!! KDMOMG!! They havee... The Last Starfighter. and labrynth haha childhood classics." [sic]
"I frequent the MRFH. They're not exactly a cult film site, but they do review some obscure ones. And I like them because they share my opinions on films, so I know which ones to avoid, and which ones to see." [this one was posted by luigi_chan... if that person is here on the Forum, would you mind speaking up?]
"at least they all agree with me on the doom generation."
"holy crap they have return to Oz"
"the Return of the King and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon are cult films?"
"After actually reading some of the reviews, they're pretty good. I think it's amazing that they have the balls to basically cut and paste all of the quotes and trivia from the IMDB and put it under headings like "Didja Know?", though."
"one Troma film does not a "cult movie review site" make."
"green on black, uch"
"Needs more paramedics..."
Knowing the Fark crowd, this is them going pretty easy on us. Pretty cool.

Heh yeah... that's another part of this double-edged sword, loverly criticism (particularly since whoever submitted the link hyped us as a seemily only-cult site). Well, we take it with a grain of salt and keep on chugging away. I do wonder about the people who posted saying we didn't have enough cult movies... last time I checked, we're not doing too badly in that department.
And, for the record, we have TWO Troma films. That's two too many, probably.
LOL, yeah, well, if they took the time to read the Care Bears review, they might notice that we're not exactly wallowing in fond nostalgia.
I think we're okay on hits... this will be on Fark's front page for today and tomorrow, so by Saturday we'll be relieved of the crush, and hopefully, some of our new visitors will have a shiny new MRFH bookmark to show for it.

Glad to hear that MRFH is getting (mostly) good publicity. Given that the bandwidth limits don't explode in a mess of digital blood and guts, more people need to come here. And I don't think the green text on black background is bad at all. I find it easy enough to read. o.O Weird people must have vision difficulties...

Hey, I figure that if anyone finds this text/background combination a pleasure to read, then maybe he/she is weird enough to be a regular to the site. I know I am. ;D
