Well, as Justin has already started the "what are you looking forward to" thread, how about the converse? What movies, based on previews/word-of-mouth, would it take a team of horses (Wyld Stallyons?) to drag you to the theater to see?
For my money, I'll say "Chasing Liberty" and "First Daughter" are ones to miss.

Actually, funny thing you mention that. IGN ran a poll of "which movies are you most looking forward to", and I couldn't find ONE that I was honestly excited about. The list consisted of: Along Came Polly The Big Bounce The Butterfly Effect Chasing Liberty Mindhunters My Baby's Daddy The Perfect Score Torque Win a Date With Tad Hamilton So I guess these collectively fit the bill.

Win a Date with Tad Hamilton The Bourne Supremecy Jersey Girl Starsky and Hutch Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights Kill Bill vol. 2 The Dreamers
Not that I actually -Dread- these. No one can force me to see a movie, and none of these are ones the one person who's allowed to try would try to get me to go see. But I doubt I'll be standing in line for those!

Why Kill Bill Vol. 2? was Kill Bill THAT bad?

Don't know. Didn't see it. But I am NOT a Quentin Tarintino fan, and I don't like Uma Thurmon at all. So, it's a movie -I- have no interest in seeing. Not one that people should avoid on principle- just one I'll avoid!

If you're a QT-hater for all the talky-talky in his movies, Lissa, you may want to give Kill Bill a try anyway. It's toned way down from his other stuff, and concentrates on letting Uma (who I also usually don't like much, but she's way fun here) do her thang.

I could've really done without the "WEEEEOWWWW... WREEEEEEOWWWW" siren noise he threw in from time to time... the annoyance factor far overshadowed any humorous slant he was going with there.

I might have to check it out when it comes out, dunno. Partly I'm not into really graphic violence, and several QT movies have really turned my stomach. I know he usually doesn't show the worst of it, but.... But yeah, the talk is a lot of it. I HATED Pulp Fiction with a passion (minus the soundtrack, which I really like), and I think it was largely because it was so pretentious. Or a lot of pretentious people I knew liked it I did like his part of Four Rooms though, so.... We'll see when it comes to video. I also kind of agree with Justin on the splitting it into two volumes bit.

Well there is a lot of violence, make no mistake. But I found it to be over the top to the point of ridiculousness. I hated Reservoir Dogs because of the violence, but I found myself laughing at some of the stuff in Kill Bill. It's a really bloody movie, but I thought the blood spilling was more silly than realistic. Though, I don't know, I've never actually seen a person get their appendages cut off, so maybe it was totally realistic and I'm just a really, really sick person.

No, I know exactly where you're coming from, druidGirl. It's almost cartoony. In fact, very much like a live action anime. And I found myself laughing at totally innappropriate moments, along with most of the audience, because even though it should be wrong, it's the right way to release the tension.
Totally up to you, Lissa, but I'd caution you to consider that it's a lot less QT-ish than his previous stuff, and more just stylish. Less jibber jabber, and violence that won't make you ill.

I could've really done without the "WEEEEOWWWW... WREEEEEEOWWWW" siren noise he threw in from time to time... the annoyance factor far overshadowed any humorous slant he was going with there. I read the script online a few months ago, and Quentin called that his "vengeance theme." Whenever you heard that, it was to be a cue that The Bride was about to kick some major a--. Edited to correct the spelling of vengeance and also to say that in the script there's also a "remembrance theme" whenever The Bride has a major flashback. I don't want to spoil much, but it will be really useful in Part II.

That's a pretty accurate statement right there, Magill.
The sound effect didn't bother me much... the first couple of times. By the end of the film, I really didn't any extra signals that the Bride was angry. It was pretty evident by the piles of dead bodies.

It was like someone clawing at a chalkboard while another person was chewing tin foil in front of me while someone else was trying to have their way with an alley cat. It was the only part of the film that seriously made me want to punch QT for being that annoying under the guise of "well, it's cute because it's representative of something and it's an homage and I'm full of crap".

I've seen fingers cut off...they just kinda ooze or dribble. Of course, no major arteries in there. What was it like in Kill Bill?
Anyone want to ask how I know this?

Well, it was an apendage bigger than a finger, usually, and it sprayed like a damn fire hose.
Siiiiigh... okay, I'll bite. How do you know what severed fingers bleed like?
