Anyone ever see a movie that you were apathetic about the first time around, but as time goes on you like it more and more and now watch it fairly frequently?
The first time I saw "Rules of Attraction" I didn't really think much of it, and was actually a little put off by it. But now it's one of the most-watched DVDs in my collection. If you'd asked me about it right after seeing it in theaters, I never would have thought I'd own and enjoy it nowadays.
Anyone else know what I'm talking about, or am I just a muddled abberation?

I'd actually put The Princess Bride in that category. The first time I saw it was at a high school party, so I only partly paid attention, and it was all nancy boys running around in tights delivering bad lines. I avoided it for a while, before finally catching on that it was actually damn funny.

I felt that way about "Renaissance Man" with Danny Devito. Maybe it's because I teach Shakespeare, but now I actually weep when Private Benitez stands in the pouring rain, surrounded by his unit, and recites the "band of brothers" speech from Henry V. I'm such a girl.

Rocky Horror Picture Show.
The first time I watched it, I couldn't sit through the whole thing. I turned it off about 20 minutes in and loudly exclaimed that this was the dumbest thing I have ever seen. However as of today I have watched it......a couple dozen times. I think it's damned funny now.

First time I saw the Holy Grail I couldn't really be bothered. I remeber watching it when I was twelve, it was the Black Beast of Argh! scene, I thought it was stupid. A few years later, when I realised things like Rush Hour were actually crappy, I decided to give it another go.
I now couldn't do without it.

Zoolander is in that catagory for me, as is 187 and Young Guns. Really wasn't impressed with any of them the first time I saw them, but now I own all three. Go figure.

Finding Nemo looked stupid to me at first. I mean, a movie about fish? Of course, I'd seen worse... But it just looked kinda dumb to me. But I wound up taking my little sister to go see it, and fell in love. Now instead of "It's a movie about... fish?" I say "It's a movie about FISH!"
