Just saw the trailer for Spider Man 2 this evening. Am I the only one who is reminded of the Matrix when I see Alfred Molina as Dr. Octavious? My first impression of him is what you would get if you crossed an Agent with a Sentinel and gave it the acting skills of Keanu Reeves.

Can't say I agree, old chap. Alfred Molina is a very talented man. Now, whether those talents are put to use here or not, still tough to see. But I didn't get any "he looks stupid" vibes from the one time I've successfully seen the trailer. I actually thought the getup looked quite good, and Molina looked the part.

Considering Doc Ock is short, pudgy, geek with metal tentacles, I think they did I fine job making him looking reasonably cool. But then, I liked the Green Goblin's outfit too, and I've come to find I'm the minority there.

Well, I agree on the Goblin, too. I thought the costume was pretty neat, considering the alternative was a rubber mask and purple tights. Nah, metal armour was a good way to go, and they even tied it into the Oscorp story that much better by making it a military design.

Saw the Spiderman 2 trailer before Return of the King last month...and I say that Doc Ock was pretty cool. I mean, it could be far, far worse. And I think it will be pulled off well. And after seeing Alfred Molina in Frida, I must say he's a very fine actor. I know I've seen him in other things, but Frida the only one I can recall in recent memory (and not just because of nekkid Salma Hayek..).
