This is one of the only geek-suffused boards in existence where one can admit to something like that, and not get flayed alive.

PowerBum- Although I hated Lost In Translation, I don't not recommend it. I had a very specific gripe with the movie, and it was definitely personal. The acting- especially Bill Murray- IS top notch. Howard actually really liked it and won't agree with my review at all when he reads it. I think it's just one of those movies you love or hate, and I just happened to fall on the hate side. Oh well.
I'm a fan of Star Wars, but I wonder more and more how it will be recieved by the "new" generations. I suspect there's a lot of nostalgia associated with it- especially by those of us who were around when the movies were ground breaking.

I think this speaks startlingly well for itself, on the subject of Star Wars Relativity.

I'm a fan of Star Wars, but I wonder more and more how it will be recieved by the "new" generations. I suspect there's a lot of nostalgia associated with it- especially by those of us who were around when the movies were ground breaking. I'll admit I was put off a bit by the last two star wars films, especially when I compared them to Lord of the Rings (which has taken over in my mind as the best series of all) and The (first) Matrix. However, I was surfing the web at work the other day, being very bored, and was searching for word on Episode 3, since it just wrapped up shooting. In my search, I found some images of Hayden Cristiansen (sp?) in Episode 3 Jedi garb, with long kinda shag haircut. Now I thought this was a super cool look for him in the new movie because he looked 1. a LOT more mature, 2. a bit like Mark Hamill in A New Hope, and 3. somewhat like me, with dirty blonde instead of brown hair. Call me a dork, but it certainly peaked my interest in a franchise I had all but forgotten about recently. Let the yelling about the fact that I left off *SPOILER* begin.

I'm confused; I haven't heard any positive praise for that movie at all. Not even from hardcore Fango readers. All my friends in real life are in love with the movie, and my friends friends, some people I meet, etc. Everyone I've talked to loved it, but it's evil and sucks. Haven't bothered reading reviews of it either.

Dually noted, Lissa. Thanks.
Oh yeah, and I can't stand the Matrix either, forgot to mention that one earlier.
Star Wars. . . eh, I can go either way.
('cept Phantom Menace. Bored. to. tears.)

Methinks "bored to tears" is the phrase of the week.
