Actually, beer was created in the year 2000 BC in Syria, in a city named Al-Ber in a place that's now on the corner of Muhammed Road and Allah Street.
The story goes like this. Back then, a man named Sammbe Addahmas was walking down the street and found some fermented hops. He ate them and started acting, as the people back then would say, "Totali wirid," which roughly translates into "wasted." He started fermenting more hops and brewing them, and eventually the first brand of beer, Sammbe Addahmas. That's where Samuel Adams gets its name.

NOTE: This story is 100% Fa(brication)ct. Especially since hops weren't added until much later. All you really need for beer is some sort of fermented grain. The hops add flavor, aroma, and can act as a preservative (which is why India Pale Ales have a lot, as they were made to last the trip from England to India). I like beer.
