Hmmm... anyone heard of 9 before? Might be all right, might be an overextended cutscene. Interesting. I think it looks really interesting. We really need a dark themed cg movie. Can't wait for 9/9/09. ;D

First trailer for The Road. Clearly, they're skewing the trailer for the male, 18-49 demographic (either that or the screwed up this adaptation royally), but it's definitely a good-looking film.

Surrogates. Hooray for weird/gloomy sci fi featuring Bruce Willis! Anybody heard of this one before?

Sammy Rockwell is also currently filming Iron Man 2, in which he'll play arch-nemesis Justin Hammer. Unfortunately, Terrance Howard is not returning as Rhodey and has been replaced by Don Cheadle. Nothing against Cheadle, but it's quite annoying when characters randomly change actors (See Mortal Kombat). Moon looks interesting, but District 9 takes the taco for most interesting trailer. Of course the trolls on IMDB are now arguing 'HOW CAN AN ALIEN SPECIE BE TREATED LIKE THAT. EVERYONE LOVES ALIENS.' See, that's what I love about IMDB: they do my human-bashing job for me. They clearly have never been taught a metaphor. A metaphor for a specie that has no where to go and, do to cultural differences, nothing to offer modern society. I hope those people do go see it and learn something, because Hollywood's only other powerful racism metaphor, X-men, hasn't been doing so hot since Brian Singer left the director's chair.

The Green Lantern fan trailer is probably the best you'll ever see. I still don't understand people's obsession with Nathan Fillion or Firefly. The plot sounds like a complete rip off of Outlaw Star and the ship IS a complete rip off of the ship from Battletoads. Don't believe me? www.rocketkraft.com/images/firefly_1.jpgTry and argue it.

Ok...
First of all, Serenity has out board engines on the edge of the wings and a large impulse drive in the back that glows when they go for full burn. The ship has a large cargo bay in the rear underside which also serves as the main entrance. What I'm saying, essentially, is that it looks nothing like a buzzard.
Secondly Outlaw Star was a crappy ripoff of the FAR superior Cowboy Bebop, neither of which bore any resemblance to Firefly except that they both happened to have spaceships.
Firefly involved a tight knit, if somewhat shady, group of characters living on a Serenity, a Firefly class cargo ship eeking out a living on the edge of a newly human-populated solar system in the years after a civil war. Inner planets are rich and technically advanced, outer ring planets are little more than frontier camps. On the way outer rims are the Reavers, men gone savage. Complications arise when the ship takes on a doctor who's sister (a slightly loopy low level psychic) is an escapee from the government.
Similar perhaps to "Two crooks find themselves in possession of the most advanced starship ever and caretakers to a bio-android" but nowhere in the vicinity of being able to call it a ripoff. I'd highly recommend getting and watching Firefly on DVD and finding out what the big deal is.
