I must have come up with a million different theories about Kate's son over the course of the episode, and it turns out I guessed correctly about the second or third time. So, yeah... kinda proud.

For some reason my first guess was the correct one. Which was kind of a let down at the end. Not a whole lot happened in this episode to progress the story line but it did have a few cool moments. Locke is certainly a scary guy to deal with at the moment. And what's up with "3.2"?

So... last episode?
Big secret revealed?
Anybody?

I'm a little puzzled about this "time-travel fog" thing around the island. If it affected the helicopter and the Black Rock (Rousseau's from the 19th century, cool!), then did it affect the Others' submarine too? Does the island exist outside of time and space?
Oh no, I've gone cross-eyed...

Oogie- K. I'm confused. I missed anything that indicated Rousseau was from the 19th century. Explain?
The last 2 episodes were enjoyable, but predictable, I think. I knew who Kate's kid and the guy on the boat were going to be. And the big Jin reveal was pretty predictable, too- they kept me guessing, but it was one of my first theories.

Yeah, that's my bad. I thought that Rousseau had come to the island on the Black Rock, so when they mentioned at the auction (in Desmond's episode) that the Black Rock disappeared in the 19th century, the inaccurate voices in my head told me that Rousseau had disappeared with it, presumably through whatever time-travel rift surrounds the island. So, yeah...disregard that. Anyway, I thought it was kinda weird how they wedged a flash-back and a flash-forward together on the new episode, but I guess I'd better get used to that for the future. I gave a pretty hearty laugh when Hurley showed up at the end, cause I thought the twist was supposed to be that Hurley and Sun were an item.

Anyway, I thought it was kinda weird how they wedged a flash-back and a flash-forward together on the new episode See, that's not what I took from the end of the episode at all. I thought it meant that other people *were* still alive in the future (like Ben) but were being kept seperated from the Six, and Jin's gravestone was a fake. People keep telling me I'm wrong, though.

Well, the problem with Jin's tombstone being fake is 1) wouldn't Hurley and Sun know that Jin was still alive, thus making their emotional visit to his grave...weird? and 2) I'm pretty sure that the company Jin says he's representing when he delivers the bear is Sun's father's, although I may be wrong about that.

it was definitely Jin in the past- He was working for Sun's father and said he had only been married for 2 months. I think Jin is dead- on or off the island, I don't know. But my thought is that only a certain number of people could leave and Jin let Sun leave without him so that she and the baby could live? Maybe?
also, Jin's headstone says Sept 22, 2004 - the crash date. Obviously not true, but curious.

After hearing it from several people, I'm apparently either completely wrong or the only person in the world who got it right.
When they juxtaposed "I've only been married two months" with the fake date on the headstone, I immediately assumed that Jin had been set up with a different life for some reason and Sun was crying because she knew he was alive and couldn't be there.
I just think it's weird that my mind never jumped for a second to the conclusion that Sun was flashing forward and Jin was flashing back.

Al, I'd be with you if Jin hadn't said he was working for Paik Automotive (Sun's dad). I thought maybe they were living separate lives so Sun's dad would think Jin was dead, but then why would he be working for him?

I'm not sure if Jin actually dies or not. It could be that there is just no way to get back to the island which makes Jin as good as dead. Either way, I think the give away that Jin was flashing back was his cell phone. It seemed too large to be from 2005 but about the right size to be early '00. Cell phones tend to be the biggest thing to date a film/series. Just check out a Beverly Hills Cop or Die Hard.

Yeah, I've kind moved out of 'bargaining' and 'depression' and into 'acceptance' that Jin's story was a flashback. I felt much better, though, when my housemates (who watched the episode apart from me) came to the same conclusion I had.
In other news, last night's episode was sort of weak tea.

I was a little disappointed they didn't show how Michael got home from the island, but I guess it's all part of keeping an air of mystery around Ben (does Ben have his own ship near the island? I don't think he sent Michael home on the submarine...). So...who was shocked by Tom's boy-toy? Now that was a twist!

I thought we knew that already. When Kate's showering, doesn't he tell her, "you're not quite my type" or something?
