I think the island will somehow heal Ben and he will join the hostiles. I want to know what happened to Farraday... hopefully we'll find something out, tonight

So- it's Jack's fault that Ben is Ben. Also- John Locke is hardcore.

So- it's Jack's fault that Ben is Ben. I like that it's kind of a group effort. Sayid, Jin, Jack, Kate, Juliet, and Sawyer all play a role in making a monster. Speaking of which, was the scene of Alpert taking Ben into the cave supposed to remind me of Frankenstein? Not a particular moment in the film, but that bit had a real "Boris Karloff" feel to it. And yes, Locke is a god. I don't think anything could stop him at this point.

dun dun dun! I actually found the finale quite predictable, which threw me. Also- whoever cast the child actors is awesome- they are all really well cast (well, Juliet less so, but Kate and Sawyer were dead on)

I had to have the whole Locke thing explained to me. *shame* Why can't new episodes of Lost be on all the time? It's only been a couple days, and this "waiting for next season" system we've got going is already bugging me.

I'm totally spoiled because I didn't start watching until right before season 4, so I watched 3 seasons on dvd in about 2 months waiting for season 4 to start. Now I am in agony waiting from week to week, let alone this 2010 nonsense. The Locke not being Locke thing helped reconcile how he knew exactly 'when' he was to tell Alpert to go take the bullet out of past Locke. That was irking me because he didn't appear to have any (other than being healing from various afflictions and death) supernatural abilities- so how would he have a concept of 'when' he was? This explained that for me. Also- am I the only one who *likes* Juliet??? Everyone that I know seems to hate her, and while the 'if this never happened I never have to know I'm living without you' blather was annoying, in general, I like her. Kate annoys the jeebers out of me.

Yeah, Kate's character is pretty annoying. I just started watching Lost from Season one again (I go my girlfriend hooked on it and gave her the same comment about being spoiled on being able to watch the first 5 seasons back-to-back) and Kate has always had this annoyance of making a mountain out of a molehill.
Remember when she went all EMO over the little airplane toy in season one? And then remember her going EMO again over telling Jack what Sawyer asked her to do before they left the island? And then again over why she left Aaron? Yeah, she has a history of making things really hard on herself and others for no reason whatsoever. I hope she goes down with the ship (island?) by the end of the series.

I just wanted to share that this TV ad made my head burst with its nerdy brilliance.

Hey everybody! Now that season 6 is out maybe we can actually discuss the series as a whole? What did you guys think of the finale? Overall who was your favorite character? Did it blow your mind? Are you one of those people who didn't get the ending? DISCUSS DISCUSS DISCUSS and don't be afraid to drop some spoilers. I'm assuming anyone who clicks on a lost thread should know never to click on a lost thread unless they're already in the know.

I truly enjoyed the finale as a standalone episode, but I'm not convinced the afterlife explanation really holds up in the context of the whole season. I'm going to need to rewatch Season 6 once I get my hands on it.
Also, most of the unexplained mysteries don't bother me, but there were a few (like the infertility problem) that really, really, really needed to get talked about in the episode. I've heard that there's some 'Ben & Hurley's Excellent Adventure' stuff on the DVD that explains it, but that's a little bit of a copout.

I liked it fine, and I think it felt true to Lost. But, like Al said, there were some big questions not answered and some niggling things that bothered me (is it weird that it bugged me that Penny, Juliet, and Desmond were in the church, but not Mr. Eko, Bernard, or Rose?). All I've ever asked from the beginning was that one of them wouldn't wake with it all having been a dream. I do like this theory of the Island and Time being the main characters.
