Still Oblivion, but now I have a new Radeon x1900GT graphics card. As soon as my tax return gets here it's going to become two x1900's in Crossfire.
Oblivion as it was meant to be played all along, with HDR and bloom and shadows, is absolutely gorgeous.

I'm settling on a nice mix between three games right now.
Quickie Gaming: Still doing a bit o' Magic The Gathering Online. The new set is a lot of fun, and I keep my expenses down by only concentrating on collecting one color. They have a new version of the game coming out this summer, which will bring it from 1999-era graphics to 2007-ish.
Work Breaks: Loaded up Fallout 2 on my work computer, and spent some time finding user patches to fix niggling problems with XP conflicts. Even though the graphics are extremely primitive, I'm loving a re-romp through this post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Late Night: Lord of the Rings Online, which officially releases tomorrow. It's really impressing me with its polish, twists on MMO gaming, and Tolkein feel. I found a really great guild of adult gamers, and we all squeeged with joy when we found out that they actually have a FREEZE TAG arena in the game, tucked away waiting for someone to find. Because, as we all well know, Gandalf was a big freeze tagger.

Went back and played the first Resident Evil game for the playstation this week. I can still remember every single detail of that game. Seemed a lot easier than I remember it being but was still great fun from start to finish. Hard to believe it was made over 11 years ago now.
Oh and special mention must be made of the absolutely FANTASTIC voice acting in this game. Every line a true classic. For example "That was too close. You were almost a Jill sandwich." you just don't get good dialogue like that in todays games.

Okami, for the second time. I haven't mustered up the desire to fight the hour-long fight against the end boss. Again.
DDR Extreme 2. I use this to workout every other day or so. I already have all the songs so I just do some hardcore foot-pounding. 500 calories burned in less than an hour? Sign me up!
I have yet to fight the end boss of Final Fantasy X:2, which I bought from my nephew last summer. I decided instead to start it over and get some stuff I missed the first time through.
I also need to play Genji all the way through again and beat it with the other, non-Genji, character so that I can get something special at the end. Can't even remember what that is now, it's been so long since I played that game. I was pretty disappointed with it really.

It's right up there with "Hey, you're that ninja!". Now THERE was some unbelieveable dialogue.

Today, in a demonstration of just how cool of a therapist I am, I made my patients play Oregon Trail. What we learned is, alcoholics and addicts don't plan for the long term and, therefore, frequently die of dyptheria.

We used to play Oregon Trail whenever we had extra time in computer class. Good times.
I remember one time playing, while someone else just kind of watched and I was killing people off left and right.
"You let Grandma die of Fever." "She had a good life." "You let that guy get attacked by a bear!" "Yeah, well, he owed me money and wasn't going to pay. Had to make an example of him." "....." "This guy's next on my 'List.' He's looking to muscle in on my position in the group."
We laughed and we laughed.....

I used to play Oregon Trail when I was in gradeschool. Good times. We actually did a writing exercise with it. We had to document our families trials on the trails in magical mystical journal form. I guess the teacher was sappy or something because she cried at the amount of wanton death in a lot of them.

Every Thanksgiving, the cousins would come up from Yuma and Roll and we would place their names on their tombstones after they died of dysentery, cholera or other maladies of the trail. Little Sarah, for instance, fell ill after being driven too long; no rest on this train, kids, I would say... we gotta make time. I want to be in St. Louis by breakfast. As an eight-year old, I was a sadistic task-master. -excerpt, Oregon Trail, Blue Wizard is About to Die by Seth Barkan This was so me.
