Bought the new Ryan Adams CD for my brother. The guy's only 32, his debut was in 2000, he's apparently just overcome an addiction to cocaine and heroin, and this is his ninth album.

I bought the new nine inch nails album 'year zero' and it was so good i bought the preceding album 'with teeth' the next day or something and it was even better Of course, you have to like really LOUD distorted electronic noise with frustrated and self-destructive lyrics to like nine inch nails... besides, if you can ignore all the self-loathing and the sound of guitars being tortured with chainsaws, you'll hear beautifully perfect little pop songs of a quality rarely heard on commercial radio

I guess I should try to talk you all into listenting to music from my country, so: - 2ManyDJ's: mixing Röyksopp with Debby Harris, Basement Jaxx with Peter Gunn, David Bowie with David Guetta etc. etc. etc. (i think people actually heard of them in America). - dEUS is just plain beautiful music - Goose, yeah, I know, who would call his band Goose but they rock, hard, with synths - Soulwax is... pretty good to. Rock-music with a funky edge to it. 2ManyDJ's are in this band as well, i like them even more since they started making techno-remixes of their music
There's also a ratio of about 5 techno-dj's or producers per square mile over here, so if you're - like me - into that pounding synthetic stuff, you're in heaven over here

I saw The Police in concert two weeks ago, and I've since backtracked and picked up three of their albums: "Zendaya Mondatta," "Synchronicity," and "Ghost in the Machine."
Also this weekend, I picked up several vinyl singles for my collection. I collect a few bands on vinyl.

In the last three weeks, I've picked up:
By Sting: "Mercury Falling," "The Dream of the Blue Turtles," "The Soul Cages." "Brand New Day," "Sacred Love," "Ten Summoner's Tales," and "Bring on the Night."
By Andy Summers: "Charming Snakes," "The X-Tracks," and "Synthenisia."
By Stewart Copeland: "The Anthology" and "The Rhythmatist"; by his bands "Animal Logic" (Animal Logic) and "The Grand Pecking Order." (Oysterhead)
Wha? I'm a collector on a kick. I already have all of The Monkees, Queen, and Garth Brooks, so I had a new band to collect and a LOT of good independent/used music stores in my area. Happy times!
Oh, and I found some Brian May solo vinyl. Score!!
