I'm pretty sure there is a thread about this somewhere, but I'm gonna make a new one anyway. Try and stop me, why don'tcha? (*evil laugh*) Anyway, the National November Writing Month project is starting up in a few days. Basically, the object of NaNoWriMo is to write a novel of at least 50000 words between the beginning and end of November. I signed up to participate, so I thought I should bring it up here. Check it out at www.nanowrimo.org/What I like about the project is that it's more about self-motivation that competing. There's no first prize or "Best Novel" award or anything; you're just titled a "winner" if you reach 50000 words, and you're free to do what you want with what you write. NaNoWriMo doesn't own the rights to your work. So, is anyone else doing this?

Wish I could, but I'm lucky if I can find time to write my reviews Maybe in a couple of years. ::Sigh::

I did some calculations this morning... to hit 50,000 words, you have to do at least 1666 words per day, which is about 3 pages. Not impossible, although I have to plan ahead, since I'm leaving town for five days in the middle of the month.
I'm excited though... would be so cool to make it.

Of course everything tends to crash on my plate at once when I actually try things like this, but hope springs eternal. Since starting this morning, I've managed 1,200 words and two cups of coffee.
My username is, boringly enough: pfrsue How's about you?

I hit 1677 this afternoon, one chapter done. I think the only type of fiction I can write is silly weirdness, so that's what I'm going for. I might throw in a hunk on a horse romancing people, just for you tho, Sue.

I might throw in a hunk on a horse romancing people, just for you tho, Sue. Awwww. In that case, I'll name a character after you, Justin. Of course, the character might be a horse...

So far, I've only managed to come up with about 500 words for two different story ideas. Chalk it up to school and writer's block.
And my moniker is TheBlah. I tend to use some variation of the word "blah" when I don't care enough to think up a username.

Love to, but like Liss, I'm lucky if I can just keep up with reviewing. I always mean to do that thing Neil Gaiman suggests, write a page a day for a year to have your first novel, but three per day? I wish I had that kind of time.
Best of luck to you guys, though!

Every year I hear about this thing, and it sounds like the coolest thing ever. But it's absolutely impossible for me to come up with the time.
I look forward to reading your work, though.
