My husband's been out of town most of this week. Instead of doing stupid things like cleaning or errands I'm proud to say I've been wasting away in front of a video game. Again. I'm doing a complete run-through of Okami for about, oh, the 9th time. I pride myself in my procrastination dedication.
What games have you played so many times you could beat it even if you were given a lobotomy?
Top of that list would be Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, then Okami , the original Medal of Honor, and the Katamari games. (I know it's a list of very light stuff, but that makes the most replay fun for me)

Huzzah! Another reason to bring up the Mid-90s Trifecta of Awesomeness!
Or, for the uninitiated; Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy III, and Chrono Trigger.

At first I thought it was going to be a thread about the constant changing of your name, and how you were about to turn it into a blockbuster video game. Sadly, that was not the case.
I could easily beat Lufia II with my eyes closed. In fact, I could even beat the parts you're not supposed to beat in terms of plot with my eyes still closed. In fact in fact, I could easily beat the most difficult boss (not the LAST boss) in less than one turn with one hand broken, my eyes closed and Fergie in my living room 'singing'... before I strangled her to complete my glorious victory. HUZZAH.
Other than that: Super Mario World, Super Mario 3, Goldeneye, Harvest Moon, Donkey Kong Country 1+2, the original Super Smash Brothers (The only good one), Rogue Squadron, Megaman 3, Megaman X, Megaman 64 (probably the most underrated and honestly one of the best, in my opinion), and of course, Contra.
I'm not even going to get into the insane challenges I've put myself through in StarCraft and Gettysburg and still won. I thought I made the situations impossible, but it turns out Multivac was right.

For me? I'd have to say Guantlet... Daaaaaark Legacy [/cheesy fake accent]. But, for that I have BaccaWacca to thank.. And even with all the times we played that thing together, I STILL wanna go back in the level and make sure we got EVERYTHING in the first sweep >.> Yeah, I'm a dweeb like that. That's how I ROLL.

Ouch, this one really starts to show my lack of modern influence, but the games I've played so much that I have them down to a science include: Ms. Pac-Man Tetris Super Mario 64 Donkey Kong Country Earthworm Jim 2
And I think, with a refresher course, I could totally rock Super Mario Bros. 2.

You also "roll" off the couch and into a pile on the floor after I punch you for making us stop what we're doing, in the middle of an attack by a crazed Egyptian general, to go pick up a stupid potion we passed up, which neither of us needs.

I would say I could probably beat Super Mario 3 and World with my eyes closed (would be the original as well, but I always have trouble with that last castle). Also the original Zelda, Mega Man 2 and X, and probably Final Fantasy III/VI. I would say Kirby's Dream Land for Game Boy and the Game Boy Mega Man IV and V, too. And this weird game called Maru's Mission that I don't think anyone but me has ever played.
For the N64, probably Goldeneye and Starfox 64, plus Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart 64.

Pretty much the classic-era Lucasarts adventure games: Monkey Islands 1-4, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, the Dig (although the Dig was one of the trickier ones, and it's been a while since I've played it...).
True, if you've beaten an adventure game once, you can beat it a million times, but I used to be in the habit of popping in any of those games and just absentmindedly shooting through them without having to think about why I had to pick up Item X and use it with Object Y (Answer: cause that's how you win...).

I've beaten Police Quest 1: In Pursuit of the Death Angel about 3000 times. It never gets old for some reason. The VGA version is pretty cool too, though driving can give you a heart attack even more than the original (as if that wasn't haphazard enough.) Least you had kick-ass driving music.
I've made it a tradition to beat Police Quest at least once every summer, because I'd always play it in the beginning of summer vacation as a kid. Leisure Suit Larry and Space Quest are also classics, though we all know these games have their rotten apples (Police Quest: SWAT, get the hell out of the Adventure gaming genre. YOU'RE NOT AN ADVENTURE GAME!)

I'm going to feel even less hardcore than I do now, compared to everyone else's games (most of which I've never heard of). Even so...probably the game I play most is DDR. I have Supernova 2 and Extreme 2 so far. I play them pretty much every other day to lose weight and keep my cardio going. Plus I think they're lots of fun.

I would probably play the Final Fantasy Tactics series forever if I could. They're the video game equivalent of comfort food for me. Just so nice to come back to.

. . .and keep my cardio going. Wow. Gosh. . .it, uh, it isn't like a Crank kind of a thing, is it? I would probably play the Final Fantasy Tactics series forever if I could. They're the video game equivalent of comfort food for me. Just so nice to come back to. Hear hear. Still waiting for a proper sequel; and note I said "sequel" not "enhanced remake." Although I will admit that War of the Lions does look pretty nifty, and if it were available for a system I own, I would be on that like a drunk college girl on another drunk college girl.

Hear hear. Still waiting for a proper sequel; and note I said "sequel" not "enhanced remake." I would really love to see them tackle another serious storyline like the original, but I'll sheepishly admit I'm there for the gameplay first, story second.
