Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter, Alan Rickman is The Caterpillar, Helen Bonham Carter is The Red Queen, Anne Hathaway is The White Queen, Crispin Glover is The Knave of Hearts, Christopher Lee's role is undisclosed, and Eleanor Thompson will be an original character as Alice friend.

Not that I'm particularly interested in this movie or anything....

ha. You read my mind. I had already mentioned the Heffalumps and Woozles scene (I think), and when I watched that scene on youtube I also some the Pinnochio donkey scene. I put those down tentatively on my list for a tentative sequel to Nightmare Fuel.

Okay, I got this in my Email today as the first picture of Johnny as The Mad Hatter. And no explanation past that. Is it a test shot? Is it finalized make-up? Heck is it even real (I'll have to dig around on that one)? No idea, but I thought I'd share since we were just talking about it.

Mia Wasikowska as Alice- a relative unknown, but with a "Childlike Empress" look about her. I dig it. Alice is supposed to be a child. I'd be annoyed if she were too grown up. Or if she were Dakota Fanning.

Technically both The Red Queen and The White Queen are Through the Looking Glass (with the chess game). It's the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland (with the flamingo croquet game). So I guess they're going for the chess angle.
