Time for another one. Namely, another playlist-style contest, akin to Drew's smash-hit X-men contest, Heather's super-successful MST3K conest, and my probably-happened Transformers contest. The rules, they be simple: Match the anime title with the song you think fits it best, keeping in mind that the associations are, almost without exception, title-driven, meaning that the songs generally won't have any tonal or lyrical relevance to the series they go with, and also meaning that my finding links to music videos for the purpose of audiovisual aid was a colossal waste of time! Yes! Standard contest rules apply. One guess per 24 hour period, resetting at midnight Eastern. Occasional hints from me. Coffee and donuts in the lobby. Winner gets to horsewhip my soul request a review. The anime...All Purpose Cultural Catgirl Nuku Nuku-- "Weird Science" by Oingo Boingo Azumanga Daioh-- "Youth Gone Wild" by Skid Row Chrono Crusade-- "Runnin' with the Devil" by Van Halen Elfen Lied-- "Invisible Touch" by Genesis Hyper Police-- "Kitten's Got Claws" by Whitesnake Mahoromatic Record of Lodoss War-- "Fantasy" by Aldo Nova Steel Angel Kurumi-- "Kickstart my Heart" by Motley Crue Trigun-- "Wanted Man" by Ratt The songs..."The Final Countdown" by Europe Alphabetizing is sexy. 3/22 Hint:
"Kitten's Got Claws" probably doesn't go with the one you think it does.

Trigun = Wanted Man
(If I understand the game right, I didn't get to play in those other contests)

I'm going to say "Youth Gone Wild" for Azumanga Daioh. Although, if you had some some about insane teachers that would work better. EDIT: I wouldn't call my MST3K contest successful, much less super-successful. Everyone just kinda pooped out by, like, the third day. Then again I think the novelty of those contests was worn out by that point.

Trigun = Wanted Man (If I understand the game right, I didn't get to play in those other contests) You do indeed understand. A point-getter is you! I'm going to say "Youth Gone Wild" for Azumanga Daioh. Ding ding ding! You get a point and relevant content! (Most of these are pretty meh, but the Airplane! jive-talkin' one makes my day.) Nothing suitable comes to mind, although I did briefly consider this insidious favorite.

I don't care what anyone says, "Final Countdown" goes with Macross, or if you're doing movies, Macross Zero. The reason? Because the movie "Final Countdown" had F-14s, and Macross has F-14s, which sometimes turn into robots. I refuse to believe any other answer.

I'll agree that it goes better with something more space-set, but for the purposes of this contest, it refers to a persistent plot point; one which the viewer is reminded of at the end of every episode. And thanks for reminding me that I need to order Final Countdown. I already have The Philadelphia Experiment, so that should complete the "naval time-travel" portion of my collection. Elfen Lied = Invisible Touch (Ha, ha! Invisible Touch, I get it) You do indeed! Point! And an internet meme! Duck! Or, for something shorter and less brain-infectious: Get a job, Nana.Steel Angel Kurumi=Weird Science? Gah! A good guess, but no. "Weird Science" is actually kind of a tough match, as it could go with two or three of these series.

Behold my disconcerting train of logic, and despair!
Okay, step 1: "The Final Countdown" is best known as the theme song of Job from Arrested Development. Of all those anime, the only one Job would have the slightest interest in watching from title alone is All Naked Cultural Catgirls Gone Wild or whatever it is. Step 2: ?? Step 3: Profit!
Now gimme my prize.

Chrono Crusade = Runnin' with the Devil Tee-hee. I like how clever I am. Steel Angel Kurumi=Kickstart My Heart I think this may be my favorite match of the whole bunch, simply because they're so tonally-opposed.

Hint!
Oddly enough, the TV series follow-up of the OVA that "Fantasy" goes with actually features a character named Aldonova.

Record of Lodoss War = Fantasy (Chronicles of the Heroic Knight had one of my favorite openings ever [but of course! it's one of Yoko Kanno's] even if it's some pretty steep false advertising as to what the quality of animation in the actual show is) EDIT: Changed link. The video's better, but please forgive the subtitles.
