Sometimes the comforters need to be comforted, and there's no shame in that. Hang in there, kiddo.

I wouldn't call this "misery" but it sucks: I went to buy tickets online for a 10 AM Friday showing at the IMAX theater of The Dark Knight (the last available showing friday saturday or sunday). I was buying them for me and a friend, and it said there were tickets available. I select "2" as the quantity and it said "processing order". Then it says "not enough seating to satisfy your request", but it charged me for one ticket. Yup, I got the very last ticket to the very last opening weekend showing of Dark Knight at the IMAX. I get to experience the magic, the wonder, the epicness...all by myself!

Two dentist visits in one week, getting a deep bone bruise on my wrist from a rogue bungee cord, and slamming my head on a handrail just sitting down on the steps.
Oy!

A hefty number of my co-workers.
A recent tale: Upon being told by a concerned member of upper management that smoking cigarettes could, potentially, cause harm to an unborn child, a pregnant colleague took the time to complain to me about people "butting in" to her business. Among her comments: "I don't know how smoking could even affect my baby. When I smoke, it goes into my lungs--it never reaches my stomach!"
The stomach, apparently is where the child is growing. . . ugh.
I'm just saying, if I know more about female physiology than you, then you should not be allowed to procreate. Ever.

Maybe 'misery' is stretching it, but watching Brett Favre slowly make a complete fool of himself is pretty painful.

A topic for another thread to be sure, but au contraire, my friend. If Brett had stayed another year, after having done so well last season, no one would have argued the point. It was Brett who couldn't make up his mind whether to stay or go, and finally the Packers management had to make a decision with the information they had to work with.

Dropping an entire case of vodka and having it pour down my front. And it wasn't even at a party.

Yeah they got him, but that's only because it's been raining and he got stuck trying to leave the scene. It was Friday at 11 pm and nobody heard a thing. My neighbor goes to let out the dog (who I'm so glad didn't get squashed) and there's this truck in the yards trying to back out. (It's hard to describe the layout, but he only got my fence) So we get up on Saturday morning "What... happened?" If the house was just a few feet farther back he would've hit the corner of it. Took pictures, talked to a guy about cleaning it up, and Saturday night an officer came by to get the value of the fence. Of course you can't get anything official done (a copy of the police report, seeing if it's covered by insurance [probably not], etc.) until Monday and school starts back today so I start full hours again (Hey I got another Misery is!).
*sigh* I helped put in that fence with my own two hands.

Of course you can't get anything official done (a copy of the police report, seeing if it's covered by insurance [probably not], etc.)... Hey! Time for me to feel useful! [job skills] Assuming he has insurance, anything he damaged should be covered under his Property Damage Liability. The minimum PD required by law in your state is $25,000, so he should have at least that much to cover everything*. If he's uninsured, it'll fall on your homeowners, but you may just want to fix it out of pocket depending on your deductible. [/job skills] *The required state minimum just changed recently, though, so if he hasn't had a renewal yet, his Property Damage may still only be at $20,000 if he was only carrying the mins.

Thanks, Al. I'm going to try to go through his insurance, so we'll see how it goes.
