4. The Avengers--John Steed carries one (I'm basing this off the TV show and the movie poster, I've never seen the dreck that is the movie) Well as someone who unfortunately saw this I... can neither confirm nor deny. It's one of those movies where I have hole in memory because it was that bad. Bear suits. I remember psychedelic bear suits.... I can confirm that Ralph Finnes did have an umbrella, in the training scene. I had to see the movie, come on Sean Connery in a bear suit ploting to take over the world by messing up world weather, AND Uma Thurman in tight leather. Also no one said the Penguin.

Speaking of redundant... You're quoting wikipedia as an accurate authority? ;D I stand by my original statement and I'm sure there are straight scimitars somewhere, if only in the Magical World of Shalen.

Ok my bad, wikipedia isn't an accurate authority. And you are right there are straight scimitars, they're called swords, broadswords, bastard swords, gladius, short swords.
I'm sorry if I offended you, but you must understand in my language saying something like "curved scimitar" is a gramatical error, so even if this is English I cannot not think of how it would sound translated. I think that if you check Britannica or Encarta they will back me up.

So what is your language, do you mind my asking? I only speak English and Spanish, so I'm always curious about other peoples' linguistic backgrounds.

Well THAT certainly started some conversation. Are scimitars normally curved? Is the Penguin not one of the most iconic umbrella carriers in movie history? Does BEING fire count as being ON fire? (I'll say yes) The Score!StarOpal gets 6 for being first around the post, but doesn't scoop the perfect score for identifying the mystery picture. StormRider nets 5, despite posting a spoiler for Dreamcatcher. But that's okay, I'm never going to watch it. Big T nabs 4. Creative, but I'm looking for an actual toothpick, not an anatomical reference to one. Magill wades into the fray with a 5 point start. Way to stick it to the leader! SpiderDancer collects 4, because pounding the side of your head in frustration doesn't count, amusing though it may be. So nobody got the point for identifying Never Say Never Again! I thought maybe Kyle might wake up and play! Nevertheless, if you don't believe me, here's the original pic featuring Sean Connery getting choked by a weight set. (fourth row down on the right) Like I said, it was a toughie. The Standings!StarOpal 22 LordMoon 18 HeadMutant 11 OogieBoogieMan 11 StormRider 10 Big T 9 SpiderDancer 8 Lissa 5 Magill 5 Blinkfan 4 And there you have it, with a new entrant on the board the leaderboard shifts a bit to put StarOpal in the lead! This game can still go any which way. Especially since I'm considering some bonus points in the next round! Next round begins tomorrow afternoon. Be there, it is your destiny.

So what is your language, do you mind my asking? I only speak English and Spanish, so I'm always curious about other peoples' linguistic backgrounds. As a matter of fact I mind not. My language is Romanian, it's a latin-based language, just like Spanish, it's got more Latin in it than any other neo-latin language today. If you have some Latin knowledge, my language is kinda like it but without the ablative. If you're interested in a more detailed discussion about it PM me, it will be my pleasure, cultural exchange kicks ass... also Happy Birthday!

Thanks. I'm now 25 going on 60.
It intrigues me that the other person having a birthday has a screen name identical to the name I gave my cat. Loligo is also one of the most common genus of squid, which is why I named the cat that.

Yeah. Exactly my point!...wait, what were we talking about?? *checks above*
Well, now that I know what I'm talking about (Kinda) I agree. I have no time to answer any of these. Although I could give witty and insightful answers, I am stuck reading other insightful answers, making me and my insightful answers feel empty. FIX IT NOW, OR I'M TELLING MOMMY!!

about what time tomorrow afternoon? i want to get in on this! The problem is that I can only give approximate times, for a couple of reasons. First is that with my work schedule, carving out a few minutes to do the update is extremely difficult to do predictably. So if I promise the update will go at 3:00, it may not in fact possible for me to do so, and I'd hate for people to expect an update at 3 and not get it till 4. Second, I want people to be waiting for this, and to spend time chatting it up a bit. I like pulling new people into the Forum! Third, I love messin' with ya.

Okay, my lovelies, it's time for an ALL PICTURE BONUS ROUND!Here's the rules for today's Round. All five items are going to be photos. First person to correctly identify five movies with the featured objects gets the first around the post point. Same as usual. However, there is a bonus point available for EACH item for correctly identifying the movie the picture is from. That means a perfect score is worth 11 points!Make sense? Good! Here we go! Round 5 - FIGHT!1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Good luck!

1. Hedwig and the Angry Inch? Certainly happens enough times in that movie... 2. Luke's battle with Vader in Return of the Jedi. 3. That looks like Chow Yun Fat, and I know he's on the phone at least once in Hard Boiled, so I'll go with that. 4. The fake minister in Cat Balloo. ("They'll neeever make her cryyy...") 5. Amelanistic snakes are the coolest ever, but it's not ringing a bell. I'll say Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders.
