Holy crizzap, I was just thinking about starting a thread for this movie.
And yes, very much. It's going to be such a testosterone overload! I can't wait!

I've been waiting for a good while, and I don't know how much longer I can take it! I've got like 15 friends and myself planning to see it together.

I'm torn. On the one hand, it's a movie based on a Frank Miller piece, and I tend to like those. And it's out on my birthday, so that's special. On the other hand, it looks like the movie was shot not with film, but pure testosterone, sweat, and artsy poses. The bit in the trailer where Gerard Butler kicks the guy into the pit is particularly painful. I really, REALLY hope it's better than it looks. I wasn't so keen on Sin City initially, too.

This looks cool. I just hope for more than the trailer actually shows.

I seem to be one of the few people on the planet who is not particularly excited about this movie. I don't know... I just don't see the appeal. Yeah, it's visually striking. That's all I've gathered.

You know what? It's reminding me of The Two Towers. A three-hour long battle. That may be it. Snoooooore. [my opinion only, not attacking anyone else's preferences, etc. etc.]

I can't wait to see this movie, it can either be cool or really cheesy, I shall be entertained.
What's drawing me? Gerard Butler, David Wenham, Michael Fassbender not wearing much.
I am so deep.

I'm torn. I tend to worship Frank Miller as a demigod and couldn't be more psyched for Sin City 2. Plus I love the actual story of the Spartans' stand at Thermopylae... so cool, so inspiring. ("If you do not surrender, our arrows will block out the sun." "Then we shall fight in the shade.") But on the other hand, I just can't seem to get fired up about the previews. I dunno, traditionally I've never been all that interested in stuff like Gladiator or Troy, so we'll see on this one.

I am so deep. yeah...it's fairly disturbing how my mom said "i heard this movie is rated R for nudity, so i am going to see it." she's obsessed with gerard butler. all i can say is... YEAH COOL BATTLE SCENES! I guess neither are very deep reasons for wanting to go see it.

She sounds like my mom, who, in fact, I'm taking to go see it. Along with the guy factor (of course, where do you think I learned it?) she loves comic book movies. You wouldn't think of a fifty-nine year old, cookie baking grandmother thinking the Killer Hookers from Sin City were cool, but you'd be wrong. Dead wrong. I'm sure she has already - but - has your mom seen Dear Frankie? If she's a big Gerard Butler fan I highly recommend it... Actually I'd recommend it as a good movie on its own.

Oooooh, Dear Frankie is fabulous. Still not sure about 300, but I'm going out tonight with a friend and I think this is the only halfway decent thing I haven't already seen. If I don't like this movie, I going to REALLY not like it, hence all the back-and-forth.
Pros It's directed by the guy who did the Dawn of the Dead remake. Frank Miller! I'm a big fan of Gerard Butler's acting and his costar, Gerard Butler's really really ridiculously good-looking-ness. 'Visually striking' has been said earlier, but it really is the best phrase.
Cons Eric Bana's prettiness couldn't redeem Troy for me. The entire movie is one big battle scene. We are MEN! RAARRRRRR!
