Still watching, and loving it.
Man, as long as it has Hiro I think the episode is great. But I love the heroes coming together, and Claire bringing back Zach into the story (look at that - names!). And The Hatian talking is... actually pretty cool. The writers need to give the policeman a break though.
I've been wondering about the dreams Peter keeps having. It isn't just hero related stuff, if you remember all the way back to the beginning of the show when the girl's dying father said him and Peter went flying... I don't know what it means, but methinks it means something.

Yeah, it makes me so frustrated. Why does that police chick keep dumping on him? He clearly has read her mind before, and can read minds! And why won't anyone admit that radioactive man has radioactive hands, when he clearly does? That's one thing I hate about these shows, everyone is always so doubting, just to make it more dramatic, when I think more people would be like Hiro.
/endrant. Anyways, yeah, I took a real shine to Zach after he tortured Claire's brother to get him out of the car. So it's nice to see him back. Yay!
Yeah, even from the beginning Peter has had dreams where he "sees the future" kind of, like when he had dreams of flying and then he did. So maybe he is having odd, abstract dreams of the future? When he said he needed to go to Nevada I went "Noooo!" Cause of course, that's whee Radioactive Man lives...and if Peter goes there...he might absorb the power and end up blowing everyone up.
Sigh. Peter is too cute to explode.

Peter is WAAAAAAY too adorable to blow up!! I think it's all a red herring to get us thinking, "Oh, he's going to where Ted (Radioactive Man) is and he'll absorb his power, go back to NY, and blow up...." But Tim Kring has said in interviews that Peter's dreams aren't necessarily visions of the future...Then again, he hasn't met Niki, Micah, or DL yet and they're in the dream.... I am absolutely obsessed with this show!! So happy NBC put every episode online so I can watch it all even thoigh I just started last Saturday....Now my weeks revolve around anxiously waiting for Monday so I can watch more! I love Zach too but apparantly he's only in one more episode of this season. But I'm very happy now that Doctor Who is playing Claude/Invisible Man!! Definitely looking forward to more of him!!

I've been giving the whole dream thing some thought, and I can't come up with a definitive answer....
1) Peter takes on the roles of other people in his dreams. Like how he takes on someone else's power. So even though he himself doesn't have the power to fly, when he dreams he's sees himself in the position of his brother who can and possibly the explosive mutant. But that doesn't explain....
2) Why him and the dying father shared a flying dream, or how he saw his brother's accident. In these cases the obvious thing is that it's people he has a strong connection to. But neither explains....
3) The explosion dream. While there are people in it who he has a strong connection with (his brother, the artist's sorta ex, Claire, etc), there's also people he hasn't even met yet (Invisible Guy, the mutant family). And if he's place holding for someone else's role in the dream, then that doesn't explain the reactions of the people who know him in the dream.
I guess this is what bothers me about his dreams, it's hard to pin down how they work. And I'm still waiting to see how he gets this scar that future Hiro speaks of. *ominous*

Yeah, I'm anxious for the scar too. Rumor has it that Milo Ventimiglia has agreed to shaving his head and he requested the scar himself....Interesting....

Oh wow, Sulu is Hiro's dad! How awesome is that? "Unspecial Ando" and "GULP!" I love this show.
Now for eveyone who said "oh, that's nice" when his wife told Policeman she was pregnate, just remember: This is Heroes. Policeman isn't allowed one truly happy moment. It's going to turn out to be the guy she had the affair with's kid.
So many things started in this episode, I can't wait for next week.

Definitely not the policeman's kid. Matt the Cop is doomed to a lifetime of misfortune. Which is sad, 'cause he's such a teddy bear!! He reminds me a lot of my godfather. And we get to see Claire's dad soon. Wonder who it'll be....My money's on Linderman, but a lot of evidence shows it could be Nathan Petrelli....I do too many ....'s....
I also spend too much time on the Heroes IMDB message boards. My goal is to stop so I actually don't become addicted to spoilers and then predict everything that's going to happen. This show is just too good though!

man, i totally wish i could get into this show. i seriously think it'll be one where i pick up the dvds and watch them all, or just download them through itunes (although does anyone actually watch stuff on their computer and/or ipod? sounds lame).
does it move fast or slow? 'lost' caught and almost immediately lost my interest because it is just moving w a y t o o s l o w l y. GET TO THE POINT! it seems like heroes does a much better job of that, and i know my boss loves the show because his favorite artist tim sale does all the artwork. interesting!

I'd say fast. Even though most of the first season is devoted to introducing characters and setting up the foundation and rules for the show it moves. We meet a new character and they're actually doing something and learn about them along the way. A clue is given because something's happened. And, so far, the second season seems to be picking up the pace.
To me the only slow part of the show is the mutant family. They grate on me. Whenever their story line is brought up it's like the whole show stops. Hopefully with the whole Linderman thing, they'll get better.
Darth Shady you took my two best guesses for Claire's father! So, just to be contrary, I'll say it's Sylar. How crazy would that be?

As for the pace, I'd that most of the time it just whizzes by and doesn't feel like you've spent anywhere near an hour watching the show and we get from plot point A to plot point B quickly and satisfyingly enough. But at some points it gets slow and soap opera-y. Case in point, whenever the mutant family's onscreen (though I think that's mostly because they are very much connected to the big picture yet with NYC going nuclear.) And the last episode was kinda ....eh. Felt like it was mostly filler. They kept advertising the week before that we'd meet Claire's biological mom but she never showed up until like the last 3 minutes. Also people like me who are dumb and read SpoilerFix.com religiously already knew George Takei would be Hiro's dad for about a month so that didn't shock me like it should've. But the previews for next week's episode looks amazing! Lots of action, Sylar escapes and goes to HRG's house, Peter invisibly stalks Simone and Isaac, and we see *gasp* Claire's dad! I can't wait for it!!!!!
For the most part though, it's hard to comapre this to Lost because as much as I love (season 1 and some of 2 of) Lost, the problem there is they just don't answer anything. Heroes does a great job of answering a question and presenting a new question whereas Lost tends to answer questions with 5 more questions. Also, Heroes gives each character a fair amount of time in each episode. Lost focuses on one or two people at a time which can be good but sometimes annoying. (For example, I really don't find Jack's past all that interesting, and much prefer Charlie's. The unfortunate thing is Jack is the main character and gets about a hundred flashback episodes a season. Meanwhile Charlie's stuck with maybe 2 each time around.)

Ugh! Two more days! I can hardly survive the week waiting for this show, and I haven't felt that way about a show in a long time! (Well, since season 3 of Gilmore Girls, which was, funnily enough, the last season Milo Ventimiglia was a regular. What power does Milo hold over me?)
Anyway I'm just excited because I hear someone's going to get shot on the show and might die. It's driving me nuts thinking about it!
I can't wait until the DVD comes out, even though I know it'll be a while.
