My heating pad is my friend. Besides, maybe the massive doses of tylenol are scaring away the writers block coyotes so that the plot bunnies can play.

Ok, it's official: Sue's mopping the floor with us, Drew.
My mouth suddenly tastes...sudsy...

It is so. For my part, I have no problem blaming my full-time job, 2-nights-a-week grad school, final projects in both classes, and AMA writeups for the dragon lady's jaw-droppingly unbelievable lead. I suggest you follow suit and make up several shameless excuses of your own, Oogie. It's your only hope.
Just remember, only losers finish before the final day. If you don't come down to the wire, sweating to type "The End" before the final minute ticks away, it doesn't count.

When did I ever imply that I had a life, people? Of COURSE I'm going faster than you are. I'm a miserable old maid (kinda sorta) with all the social life of a dead gopher and the professional prospects of a weevil jammed into the hardtack of life.
Did it occur to any of you that the best way to slow me down would have been to set me up with a Christian Bale, Ewan McGregor, oh who am I kidding?, Marty Feldman lookalike to sweep me off my feet and completely distract me from my word count?
Noooooooo, of course it didn't.
There's still time though!

Hmmm...
*flips through the Yellow Pages, trying to find the "Marty Feldman Lookalikes" section*
Anyway, my only excuse for being where I am is that I'm not an overachiever. I do the bare minimum and I do it well!

Are we talking with the humpback (sex-ay!) or without?

Are we talking with the humpback (sex-ay!) or without? That's negotiable. Yes, I'm really that pathetic.

Erm, yes.
Maybe next year for me? Eh heh.

So, for the second time this month, I've fallen behind. Curse those late-night, double-feature, picture shows!
Catching up tomorrow is going to be fun...

Sue, the fact that you reached 50k a week in advance is both awe-inspiring and envy-inducing. Good job! ;D

Congrats, Sue. That's insanely scary (your kids are locked in the cellar, aren't they?), but remarkably impressive at the same time. Awesome job! For my part, AMA writeups plus 3 days of spending most of each day with both my family and the in-laws has put a major dent in my progress. Next week will be rally week, I think. And then grad school finals. Man, I'm going to earn this Christmas. -D

Congrats, Sue. That's insanely scary (your kids are locked in the cellar, aren't they?), ...I have kids? I'm not going to pretend that it wasn't a real grind. Of course it was! But, I had a lot of fun with my plot--I still am having fun with it actually--and that made it easier to keep up a good head of steam and kick it to the 50k a little earlier than I anticipated. Drew, I don't have any idea how you're managing this with all of your other obligations. My hat is off to ya. You'll get there. You're too close not to. Oogie, I can't wait for you to get finished. Two years in a row, makes us the MRFH-NaNoWriMo elite! I want to see how your story turns out too! Courage, my brethren! Anyway, now I can sit down and get all my MRFH stuff done before Justin smacks me upside the head with a shovel. I know he wants to! Sue

Thanks! (Probably the only decent part of it, but whatever. ) And congrats on your progress... you must almost be able to taste the end by now. Almost there! Planning to try to hit tomorrow? -D

I'd like to think that I can reach 50k tonight, but I don't think it's very likely. I've spent the day writing an exam, doing research for a paper, and finishing said paper, so I might not have the last 3,000 words in me tonight. I'll sure as heck try, though.
