A little last minute laugh for the NaNoWriNauts. Beware of naughty language, but I think a lot of people are going through this.

That was pretty great, PoolMan. Thanks for the last minute cheer. And as long as we're on the subject of comics... uh, no one here is the person who writes the NaNoWriMo comic, right? Tell me if you are. Or, actually, just stop reading now, that would probably be for the best. Thanks.
. . . . . Okay, so is it just me, or are those comics not very funny? I don't mean to criticize, I know someone is taking the time and effort to make them and I think that's great, It's just... man, those are some bad jokes. Not Family Circus bad, but close. Still awesome that someone's trying to do something nice for the site, I applaud them, but maybe next year the same artist but a different writer? Am I the only one who's reading those?
...anyway. Those are the kinds of thoughts I have when I'm near the end. 48,282. Time for the last push. *dives back in*

Done.
Ladies, gentlemen... I have written a book. Alert the media.
51,059 words of insane brilliance complete crap writing. It was crazy, it was exciting, it was an experience. God, I'm tired. I can't believe the guy who started it has done this nine times.
Right, I'm off to have a beer.

I'm 1000 shy of the goal, and only about halfway through my story (the way I see it). I guess I'll be repeating myself and be the third one in the group to finish for the second year in a row.
As for the NaNo comics, they get the same reaction from me as any comic strip that I happen to read in the sunday paper: "Hm. Cute. Move on." Stuff like that doesn't sway me one way or another. The way I see it, there isn't much of an chance to write anything really funny in such a small space, and under the limitations imposed by the "family friendly" angle. I can't imagine it being solved by bringing in another writer.
Anyway, I'm gonna need to ingest some sugar before I can start writing again, so off I go!

Hey Oogie! Welcome to the MRFH NaNoWriMo VARSITY!!!! CONGRATULATIONS, my friend! (I swear, if two years of NaNo success doesn't give us superhero powers of some kind, nothing will!)

Now I think we should go make fun of other websites that didn't have 3 people finish successfully.

Congrats to all 3 of you. My husband pulled it off, too, so let's count him as a 4th so you all can brag harder about how much this site rules! Seriously, Congrats. After watching Husband do this I sincerely admire anyone with the fortitude to stick with it without killing themselves or anyone else.

So, after a week of finishing exams and papers and generally relaxing from the lack of school, I've returned to my novel. Its scope is widening with every thought I give it. Today has been a little awkward, since I don't have NaNo to motivate me anymore and it has been so long since I added to my book, but since I have the rest of the month off, I can make writing a daily habit again.
I should be looking for a new job, but whatever . . .
