PLEASE READ: We are including all of the older doodles on this thread that still work and have transferred doodles from the other test thread back to here. Game on, Garth!Welcome to the one and only (well, we certainly HOPE only) "Cult Doodles Contest"! In this exciting and contageous new contest, we at MRFH challenge you, the home viewer, to create works of art based off of scenes from cult films. "Waitaminute," you say. "I'm about as artistically inclined as a bloated seal!" No problemo! We have many categories to win in, and some require more of a sense of humor than any real artistic skill. The contest is this: by using art.com's artPad to doodle online, you'll draw a scene from a cult movie, save it, and submit the link to us here. We'll judge the results, and post our favorites and the winners later on in February. You can try to shoot for a specific category, or to do multiple categories at once! CATEGORIES ***** We will hand out first place prizes and list honorable mentions for these categories: 1. Coolest Doodle 2. Most Artistic Doodle 3. Most Creative Doodle 4. Funniest Doodle PRIZES ***** Each first place winner will receive a patented MRFH Bag o' Swag, which will include: - A DVD movie so bad, it will rot your eyeballs from your skull - A movie song mix CD of my making - A novelization that I've used for the "Revenge of the Novelizations" articles (complete with my pedantic scribblings inside) - Random movie memorabilia that I picked up at a store All first place winners and honorable mentions will have their picture posted on our website for generations to admire! RULES ***** 1. You may enter as many times as you wish (MRFH staff is excluded from the contest). 2. Go to this website and use their "digital canvas" to create a picture based on a cult movie scene: artpad.art.com/artpad/painter/3. The movie scene must come from a film we've reviewed on MRFH already.4. Once done with the picture, click the "save and send" option and look for a link that lets you see the URL to your picture (or you can send the url to your e-mail address). Write down that URL! IMPORTANT: You might also want to send yourself a copy of the art, just in case you lost the URL or the URL doesn't work somehow. 5. Post here, on this forum thread, the URL to your doodle. Yup, you have to register on this forum and post here to enter the contest -- no e-mail submissions! 6. Make sure you include in your post the title of your work of art and the movie you've drawn from. 7. By entering in your picture, you're giving MRFH permission to post it on our site. 8. The contest ends midnight, April 12. No further submissions after that date will be allowed. 9. Have fun, no matter what your level of doodling talent!

It's "pedantic," not "pendantic."
Thus I prove that I am more so than you. Ha ha.

ummm, i dunno if it's just me but when i linked to mrsskull's submission and then to mine that i had just completed, it didn't show them, the canvas remained blank. Is it just me? Here's the link to mine, The Dark Crystal artpad.art.com/?iu2k1a19jefw

I get nothing but blank canvasses when I click on both submissions. Justin, is there a step missing?

A couple notes as I'm troubleshooting this:
(1) I've gone around the web and looked at other people's links to the artpad creations, and they work just fine.
(2) I updated Flash to the most current one.
(3) On both of the links above, it says either "transferring data from artpad.com" or "waiting for artpad.com". Whatever that means.

www.art.com/asp/artpad/default.asp"If you're going to post a link to your website, use the one given to you in the Save & Send feature. If you just copy the address in the browser, you will by-pass the flash detection feature and those without flash will see nothing." Could this be the problem??? Multiple posts or just keep editing the first post?

That's what we've been doing -- using the save & send feature, getting the link from there (Which displays the message that the artwork had been saved), and then trying to use that link. It's a no go so far.
And either way works for posting submissions.

Here, I just made a quick drawing (non movie related) to see if the link would work. Works on my machine, does it show up on yours? Click Me!

artpad.art.com/?iu33ik11uvw0Ninja hookers... a sexy yet disturbing concept. P.S. I wish I had a tablet, or at least a smoother working mouse... P.P.S I just re-read the contest rules, so if it wan't blatantly obvious, the movie is Sin City.

Hm... weird. Caramel tried it before and it seemed to work just fine, too. Although those two above links (Dark Crystal and the other one) still don't work. Full steam ahead. artpad.art.com/gallery/?iu30kc12itdw
