A look at 4 "sneak peeks" of the Trek Movie--SPOILER HEAVY!![/b] I skipped over the breakdowns of the 4 individual scenes and jumped right to the last paragraph of the article, copied here for those who don't want to risk the spoilers... "So, overall, the positives: Urban's Dr. McCoy is fantastic, Pegg has Scotty nailed down, Yelchin's Chekov is endearing, Saldana's Uhura is a tribute to Nichelle Nichols, the effects are top-notch, and the picture appears to have more truly cinematic moments and scope than most people would have expected from Abrams. The negative? Pine is charismatic and fun to watch, but he's not playing Kirk. It's a fun character for sure, but it's not Kirk. Still, I can live with that. The only true concern at this point is Quinto's Spock. From what was shown, it's a weak performance undermined by Nimoy's appearance in different scenes. Besides the physical characteristics, they do not seem like the same character (and even then it's mainly the hair and pointy ears).
But make no mistake, this preview accomplished its goal. It gave a longtime "Trek" fan hope that the complete film will reignite a dormant franchise and kick the summer movie season of 2009 off with a bang. So, I shouldn't be confident of Quinto and nervous of Urban...but the other way around? Gerk. Is it May yet?

downloads.paramount.com/mp/startrek/Trlr2_internet_480p.movThis video has an extra something at the end. I'm not going to give it away or anything but it starts with L and it's Lenard Nemoy. The step-by-step analysis was fun reading but... it kinda defeated the trailer for me. Now I can't watch it without knowing what I'm watching. For instance, I was happier wondering why, exactly, is Sulu wearing a Ronin Warriors outfit and swordfighting? Now I know it's just some sort of primitive space suit with a parachute... course I still have to wonder why they're parachuting. I flat-out LOVE how one guy gets an all-red space suit... and no parachute. I'm still hoping for some sort of Sulu/Ronin connection. But hey, at least we get to see some Orion Slave Girl lovin'.

Pretty good! But wasn't that the "Batman Begins" music all over it?
Interesting they're hardly letting Zachary Quinto deliver any lines in these trailers.

Somebody said it was music from Buffy the Vampire Slayer... not entirely sure.

Star Trek was amazing. I saw it opening night, of course, and I can safely say that it should replace Nemesis as 'Star Trek X', with Nemesis sliding into XI so the even/odd rule still works.

Seen it: better than expected.
They did well and I thought how they did the reboot was clever. For me, they absolutely NAILED Dr McCoy. The others, not so much.
