Please tell me somebody else watched BSG tonight? Please? 'Cause holy mother of mercy I did not see that coming. Anyone? Best show on television? Anyone?

I don't watch it religiously, but I have seen a few episodes. I hang out with a group of geeks who went to a science and math school, which does nothing but perpetuate that stereotype, but we won't go there... let's just say I have seen it and found it a thoughtful gift to purchase the issue of Playboy with Number Six on the cover for said group of geeks, as they are all male.
I'm not terribly fond of the pacing, but I can appreciate several elements of the few episodes I have seen. I think it'll help if I see them from the beginning instead of picking up in the middle like I did.

I was totally spoiled for that episode, so I wasn't surprised.
SPOILERS BELOW
There's no way she's dead, so I wouldn't worry about it. This isn't because I've read spoilers, it's just pragmatism. There's no way they'd kill off the most charismatic character, and the one the creators fought the hardest for and seem to like the best.
The shots were structured so that there can be an alternate explanation for what happened.

Yeah, I was amazed looking at TWOP this morning how blatantly they had apparently telegraphed it in interviews and things beforehand, but that's why I refuse to read that stuff. After about ten minutes of staring slack-jawed at the screen last night, my brain started to work again and pieces started to fall into place: the eject lever, the second ship in the corner of the screen when Apollo found her, etc, so I know it's not what it seems, but it was still a punch in the solar plexus.

Wow, first Starbuck and now last episode. Why couldn't the whole season be this interesting? Nice that they've finally shaken things up.
I'm hoping that next season will be the last season as I get the feeling they are running out of steam.

Y'know I keep hearing the 'running out of steam' comment getting tossed around and can't understand where it's coming from. For three seasons they've done a couple of somewhat disposable self contained episodes that always come before the big push towards the finale, but even among those there's only one that I truly consider to be of poor quality. I mean, I don't want the show to run so long that it trips up and falls on it's face, but I trust Ron Moore to get out while the getting's good.
In regards to the last episodes: phenomenal. It's totally awesome to see Mark Sheppard (Badger!) again and he really just nails every scene he's in and melds with the cast so well. He really just seems to belong there. Also: Tigh, Anders, Tori-- 3 of the final 5 Cylons? They are the only ones who can hear the music. Admittedly, it's a little too convenient that 3 of the final 5 just happen to be existing characters, but an interesting train of thought nonetheless that I picked up at TWoP.

Yeah, not so happy about that wait, but, MAN, what a finish. I'm going to be pulling my hair out for the next nine months! And I have to get a copy of that All Along the Watchtower cover.

Curious that you left off number 4 of the supposed final five. I'm still not entirely convinced that they are. Yes they all hear the music and all are lead to each other but how they conclude that they must be cylons from this is beyond me. Especially considering how Tirol has a kid when Boomer had such a difficult birth. And they even left open the possibility that Starbuck might not be a cylon, although the actress apparently admitted it in an interview.
Still an excellent finish and what a long wait ahead. Apparently they are doing a 2 hour tv movie in the fall to wrap up some side stories.
As for the losing steam, when you look back at the first season, every episode had some big revelation or plot turn. Not so much in the second but lots of action to compensate. This last season started off really big but the middle episodes, although still well done lacked the edginess of the first season. Guess season one spoiled me.

They might conclude they're Cylons because their Cylon programming activated and they realized what they were. Personally, I think the huge Cylon fleet is under the control of "the final five" and is there to lead a joing human/Cylon mission to Earth. Leoben and Cavil might also be involved, as they seem to have some ideas about what's really going on.
As for Sharon's difficult labor, it could have been due to any number of factors, not that she was delivering a hybrid. Maybe the Cylons messed up the childbirth subroutines, maybe Sharon had complications due to her extended stay on Caprica, etc. Besides, Cally, a human, delivered Nicky.

Finally got on to the BSG wiki and it's confirmed that Tigh, Tyrol, Tori and Anders are all cylons. <stewie>Blast!</stewie>

If I'm remembering the episode correctly, they say something about 'it's like flipping a switch,' so I guess they all just suddenly knew. **SPOILER** I'm personally curious about Tigh. I haven't watched the older episodes recently, but if I'm remembering correctly, the Cylons disappeared 50 years prior to the miniseries and he's known Adama for 40. That's a heckuva leap in technology in ten years, but I have faith in Ron Moore and David Eick to bring it all together. **END SPOILER**
And word on the street is the the movie will be two episodes released August-ish that center around the Pegasus and what happened to it before it met up with Galcatica. Which means Michelle Forbes is coming back! Hooray!
EDIT Oh, and my Watchtower cover will also be released mid-August on the S3 soundtrack. Double hooray!

The first time we see Tigh and Adama meet (via the flashbacks in the first couple episodes of season 2), both men look to be in their forties. I think Tigh is supposed to be a bit older than Adama.

Just to throw this out there but there was a time after the "War" that Tigh was out of the service, it is posible that he has been replaced during that time period. when Adama was recommissioned he went and tracked down his old buddy.
