I knew that you'd be excited too I am so ready for this show to start again. Or at least the webisodes. Can we have that, please? (And will asking here make them come any faster???) The promo did look awesome, though.

WEBISODES!!!!! www.scifi.com/battlestar/Wheee! First complaint: TOO SHORT! But I won't be happy until I have all ten Liking the Gaeta/Hoshi, as everyone knew I would. It's not really the fact that they're together- it's that Hoshi is seeming so darn SWEET. I mean, "Go. Feel better. I'll be waiting." Awwww. Even if he did just hand his boyfriend a six pack of morphine right before. And was it just me, or is anyone else wondering if Gaeta's got a lovely little morpha addiction going? The Eights. I gotta be honest- I like Sharon. I like Boomer. I would be happy if we never saw another Eight again. I get kind of bored of them, and I don't find them as interesting as some of the other models. Why couldn't it be Threes? Oh, right, because they're all boxed. How about some less-crazy Twos? Tigh in the CIC. Guess he and Bill are gonna make up. I hope so, anyway. Tigh and Bill are my bromance OTP. Nothing should come between that friendship. ::sniff:: The beginning... wow, that's looking bad for Felix. I'm wondering about that list, but I'll speculate more in the other post. They're going to destroy my boy, aren't they? I know he'll get home, because they wouldn't kill off Gaeta in a webisode. But this is going to be rough to watch, I'm sure. Oh, and they're missing for three days? That tiny raptor must STINK. (I mean, seriously. What are they all doing in terms of waste management?) More, please! ETA: Whatever they did to Hoshi's hair is a serious improvement. The guy is kind of a cutie when he smiles

You Will Know the Truth
Clue #1: You have heard my voice countless times but you do not know my name.
We have heard Caprica 6’s voice countless times and we do not know her name. All of the other S7’s have names except for the 6’s, notwithstanding the Brunette 6’s who have unique names. “Caprica” is given to 6 as an honorific after her mission and status as hero. None of the other 6’s are called Caprica.
Caprica worked with Baltar for 2 years I think and yet he never refers to her by that unknown name. (Unless it was Shelley Godfrey.)
Clue #5: Unborn Cylon Child
This image has been used before to indicate Athena’s unborn child. But I don’t think the clue refers to the child but to a pregnant woman. One who’s progeny is a cylon. Caprica again.
Clue #2: First Hybrid’s Prophecy
And the Fifth, still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering. I can see them all. The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin, but in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of the one splintering into many and then they will join the promised-land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning. Dated: 1-16-09
This whole passage is about the fate of the cylons including the fifth and the seventh. The hybrids know the identities of all 12 cylon models. The ships hybrid says “the 3 will reveal the 4”. We assume that the final cylon, the fifth has model number 7. However, Caprica is both the final cylon and number 6. The one who programmed us as D’Anna refers to her, “sleeps in the shirt of man”, has hidden herself by making copies. The prophecy can refer to events in the past where D’Anna is boxed and the number of cylon models is reduced from 7 to 6 but it can also mean that the fifth cylon, who is “The” seven is now six.
Clue #7: Last Supper Picture
The object in front of the empty space is the cup or “holy grail”. The cup is symbolic of the holy bloodline and since the objects indicate actions that the character may take; then I interpret this to mean the empty place represents the character who is in pursuit of the bloodline or quest. That would be Caprica/V6.
Caprica is not in the picture. The central figure is Virtual 6, who is a character in her own right and may be masking or hiding the identify of the cylon god but is not Caprica 6. The Other 6 in the picture is the now deceased Natalie who is pointing an accusing finger at V6. I think this is a misdirection since most people think that it’s Caprica in the god position. We know it’s V6 by her red dress. Up until recently only Baltar can see her.
Tigh is turning a blind eye to the empty space and has certainly done that by concealing his intimate relationship with Caprica and that fact that her face changes into Ellen. Tigh is literally blind to the cylon beside him.
Athena and Helo appear to be looking at the empty place. We know that Athena is afraid that Caprica will take Hera and it appears that Helo is protecting her. Hera draws V6 obsessively and runs to Natalie when she boards Galactica. Athena kills her and yet she is still included in the Last Supper picture.
Who is V6?
V6 is Ellen Tigh who is dead and missing from the picture. She is the one who programmed the other S7 and has made an S7version of herself as Caprica 6. Ellen Tigh, Caprica 6 and V6 are one in the same and the (not so final) cylon. V6/Ellen is the angel sent by god to save Baltar’s soul and redeem her past sins.

Heh. I forget if I posted it here, but I'd come up with a similar theory. Mine went like this:
The Final Five came from Earth, and Four joined humanity. The Fifth was Cavil, and he decided to go help the Cylons evolve. He created a whole bunch of copies of himself, and he also created seven other models. Yes, seven. He called himself One, and then created the Twos through the Eights.
However, before the whole thing started, when the Cylons were talking about their Plan, one of the models (i.e., the Sevens) didn't like the idea of nuking all of humanity and resisted substantially. Cavil boxed the Sevens, which was all of them except for one sleeper agent in the Fleet (Dee or Gaeta was my choice here, but really, it could be anyone). Once the Seven died, they would be boxed, too.
I don't think it's right- there are things I really don't like about it. But I still think it's a fun theory.
Anyway, I know in my article I'd said I think it's Gaeta, but Revelations and Guess What's Coming to Dinner pretty much turned me around. (I also totally turned around on the gay thing- ever since I did a rewatch I'm positive he was in love with Baltar. Don't know if they'll ever address Baltar, but the actor's said he played the character that way, and they hooked him up with Hoshi in the webisodes (although rumor has it he's bi), so that's all fun.) Anyway, I'm on to Ellen Tigh as well, but I don't think she's an aged Six.
A note about the clues on that site- it doesn't say that they're for the Last Cylon. Personally, I think the final Cylon is not as big a mystery as we fans make it out to be. I also think that the identity will not be a shocker. (How can it be? We've guessed everyone from Laura Roslin to Jake the Dog.) The shocker will be something about the whys or the whats. My guess is that Ellen knew she was a Cylon the whole time, and she was encouraging Saul in his drinking trying to get him to override whatever he did to turn of the machine part and remember that he's a Cylon too.

I think that clues 3, 11 and 12 are saying that there are more than 12 cylon models and that Kara, Baltar, Bill, Laura, Helo and Zarek are cylons as well. Quite possibly there are more since there is a crowd of people speaking in the background and I have strong suspicions about Gaeta and Romo. This would be one way for the producers to satisfy everyone. LOL They could cast suspicion on all the favourites as the final cylon and then bump them off one by one, only to reveal in the end that "you were right... everyone's a cylon". But they real mysteries will be who is "the one who programmed us" (V6/Ellen) and who is the cylon god (Apollo).
The key to decoding the Last Supper (Da Vinci code) picture is to populate it with the Final 12 and not just the Final 5, plus the son of god. I don’t think either Adama is the final cylon or the S7/the one who programmed us; but Apollo may be the final cylon in the sense that he may be the last cylon whose true nature is revealed to the viewing audience.
If you move V7 to the Final cylon position beside Tigh and move Apollo to the son of god position that would be closer to the truth. I would divide the group between the factions who support the old gods and the new gods. So I would stick Tyrol in the Judas position previously occupied by Apollo, eliminate Natalie and replace with Helo; and add Tory to the spot previously occupied by Laura. Move Laura to Anders spot and add Zarek in to Tyrol’s spot.
The Final 12 seem to be the original Lords of Kobol from earth. I am not sure about Athena being included in the picture. The S7 cylon “evolution” may have progressed far enough to allow a LOK to download to an S7 body or it could be a clue that supports Helo as one of the F12. A parallel to Tigh and Caprica producing a child.
Some additional thoughts about the Opera House as AI/Download center. I don’t think all the technology has been destroyed. I believe that the actual download center is located on earth and the further the population gets from earth; more relays and signal boosters are required to reach the end destination point of the resurrection ship. I think the cylon hub is just a hub or relay point, along with the Temple of 5 and that the Eye of Jupiter is a super massive FTL conduit and signal booster. The cylon resurrection and hub technology is not longer required the closer the fleets gets to earth.
I think that repeated cycles of destruction results in a technological regression of successive societies and the closer the fleet gets to earth, the more advanced and unrecognizable the technology becomes. As Laura says “they need the farmers and laborers” to begin again. Advanced technology seems to be disguised in primitive facades as in the Tomb of Athena.

Um, wow.
Dee. NOT expecting that, and not happy to see it regardless. I didn't like Dee/Lee, but I always always always liked Dee herself. That stunned me. No wonder Gaeta looked awful in the webisodes. I mean, he didn't look overly happy when he was talking with her, but wow. He's lost her and he's gonna break off with Hoshi. Oh man.
The final cylon- I called it (after Revelations). Yay me!
So, was Anders a rock star on Earth? That would be pretty funny if it was true.
The Cylon visions intrigued me more than anything else. I want to know more about that. It was interesting how they never let you see any of the Cylons up close. Obviously, they had children. I'm wondering if the Final Five reincarnate differently than the Seven? Instead of downloading into an adult body, they download into an embryo and go through life stages again? That would be interesting.
When it comes to Kara, I've got nothing. I'm clueless. I haven't even got theories.
I am wondering if they'll refer to the webisodes at all. I suppose we'll find out next episode, or maybe the one after. Just the Raptor of Death. I did smile a bit at the part where Hoshi and Gaeta were obviously talking before and exchanged glances. Funny how differently you'd see that if you've seen the webisodes versus if you haven't. I also have a feeling we're going to see more of Gaeta's grieving Dee next episode, maybe. Or at least his anger and bitterness. Which- boy did he get some ominous shadowing. (And I see Hoshi's got a reasonable haircut. Hallelujah.)
It was fun to see Leoben freak out. I hate Leoben. Not so fun to see Roslin or Adama freak out, although I gotta say everyone was rocking their scenes.
The show is definitely back!

You know, I wasn't blown away by last night's episode.
I'm not complaining exactly, because it's still better than, like, everything on television, but compared to the mind-blowingness* of last week, this was a step down.
+ The Zarek-Gaeta alliance was telegraphed all over the place, so it was hardly a surprise, but it's definitely going to lead to interesting places.
- Bill and Laura sleeping together felt weird to me. I don't know why, considering how much I love their relationship, but it was weird nonetheless.
+ I liked the dig at Apollo's constantly changing job title, and Tyrol's trouble with the them/us thing.
- I was annoyed at the Baby Aaron plotline. It felt like a cop-out answer so they could take one more thing off of their plate, not to mention seeming really inconsistent with Cally's character. But I do think Daddy Hot Dog is funny.
+ I liked Bill and Tom's conversation in the jail cell. Even though the 'this is a folder full of your secrets' shtick is as old as the hills, it still works.
+ I'm also happy that Tigh is remaining on as XO, although I wish they could have made room for a bit of explanation on how he dealt with finding out Ellen was #12.
In fact, this whole episode kinda felt to me like Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince or Song of Susannah. It's not bad in it's own right, but it was clearly the book that the author had ti write in order to get to the book they wanted to write.
------------------ *EDIT: Ooh, bad word choice.
EDIT #2: Also, Cottle giving Tigh yet another vice cracked me up.

I agree it was a building episode, but I really, really, really liked it. Okay, so I've been waiting for the Gaeta-Zarek alliance since I first heard about it, but still. For me, the best part of the entire episode was Kara and Felix snarking at each other. That was a thing of beauty, and seriously, I expected them to start pulling each other's hair. The b!tch quotient was out of control there. The parallels to when she came and sat down with him in Collaborators, the way they both gave as good as they got (although I thought Kara was a bit off her game), the impression that they never, ever liked each other but had even more reason not to like each other now.... LOVED it. The thing for me with this whole civil war plotline is that Zarek and Gaeta have a POINT. And they've got reasons to be ticked. I feel like Adama's brought this situation on himself. The first time Zarek got shoved out of office, okay. (Collaborators.) But in Sine Qua Non? And LEE got put in? For no good reason? Especially since it was all temporary? And then in terms of Gaeta... not following up on why he lost his leg? The guy goes missing and Adama can't be bothered to send a search and rescue mission until Hoshi pesters Tigh into it, two days later? And when they do find him, he's in a Raptor with a bunch of corpses and it gets swept under the rug, not because Felix was whacked out on morpha and was an unreliable witness, but because they don't want to jeopardize the alliance? When an Eight BROKE the alliance? Look. Adama, Roslin, I love you guys. I really do. But either make it a democracy or declare martial law. Stop pretending it's the first when it's really pretty much the second. And there's no shame in that- it's a time of war. Martial law is APPROPRIATE. I did smile at their end scene, but I did also wonder why they were burning all those candles. Short supplies here, people! I have to agree with you completely about the baby retcon, Al. I hate that one. Especially because the beginning of The Ties that Bind was a big scene for me, and darn it, I LIKE Cally. I realize that this doesn't HAVE to reflect badly on her- according to one interview, Ron said she and Chief got married REALLY quick and she didn't actually cheat on him- but still. Retcons can be good (getting rid of glowy spines was good), but there's a reason people cringe at the word. Must sleep now. But the promos for the next week look awesome

I'm watching BSG on terrestial UK TV, so I'm a week behind you guys. I resisted downloading it so I could watch the show in HD (I pay for that privilege, may as well actually use it! ). When it comes to Kara, I've got nothing. I'm clueless. I haven't even got theories. All I can say is that I keep expecting Starbuck to end up in a white uniform (ref: original BSG ). As to what's going on on Earth? I would not be surprised at either of the following; A) All the cylons on Earth were once humans and had human bodies but someone learned how to "resurrect" humans in to cylon bodies. This technology still exists, so Starbuck was resurrected. Dee will return. B) All the people in the fleet are really cylons but don't know it.

Caught up with you guys now (it airs on Tuesday here). What can I say? I enjoyed the episode but when it was over, I was like "You know, they say things are always darkest before the light, well, they better have one hell of a lightbulb coming because I think they are currently at the lowest they could ever be". I mean, does ANYTHING ever nice happen to these people? As to what's going on... I'm really, really torn. Gaeta and the upcoming revolutionaries...they really DO have a point. Its only a few years ago that the cylons wiped out billions and billions of human beings. And now, just because some of them have kinda gone "Er...sorry about that, we were in the wrong, can we be friends?", they are supposed to just up and forget? I realise that Adama and pals are literally thinking about the survival of the human race. When it comes down to a population of less than 40,000 humans, they can't afford to hold grudges. And using cylon jump technology might just made the difference between survival and extinction. But would YOU want to become beholden to the very toasters who killed your family? The administration played this exactly wrong and although understandable, it means that troublemakers like Zarek and Gaeta are going to have a field day. Agh! It is so frustrating! Everyone in the fleet is super depressed and blaming Roslyn. Then Adama is basically forcing an alliance with their hated enemy upon them. But he's in the right, even if he went about it the wrong way. Bottom-line for the humans: if they don't ally, they significantly reduce their chances of survival. Which aren't great anyway. Don't you just love this show?
