I'm just happy to report that I heard my first "Centerfield" by John Fogerty on the radio yesterday, which officially signals the start of springtime to me. Put me in coach! I'm ready to play <clap clap> today! Look at me! Gotta be -- Centerfield! Al -was always a terrible baseball player, but, man, do I love that song. I agree, spring is finally here I put on my cleats today, and played my first softball game of the season. Almost did the circuit (had a single, double and triple), and came home with grass stains and a ripped shirt (from a sliding dive where i almost caught the ball). Gotta love this time of the year ;D

Finally picked up the new Aerosmith, and I gotta say... it basically made me want to listen to the originals. It's not that I don't like it -- I thought "Road Runner" and "Back, Back Train" are particularly groovy -- but I guess I already have so many memories associated with a lot of those songs that I'd rather pull out my parents old vinyls. I'm sure it'll grow on me though, it's not moving from my CD player anytime soon.

Good to hear that.
Imagine a 37-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl (aka, me and my dad) jamming together to Aerosmith. Memories for us both... especially the concert from 2 years ago.

I just discovered Eva Cassidy and I can't stop listening to her music. She was a remarkable singer and musician. If anyone gets the chance, listen to 'Over the Rainbow,' 'Songbird,' and 'Fields of Gold.' Some of her songs are remakes, but she makes them seem brand new (sounds like an advertisement, but it's true!). Really beautiful music, I highly recommend it.

During a weekend trip up to North Carolina to hang out with my wife's family, and we got a copy of my wife's cousin's Space Ghost: Musical Bar-B-Q.
My father-in-law proceded to tell us it was the stupidest thing he ever heard. But we luv it.

I just discovered Eva Cassidy and I can't stop listening to her music. Is that the British woman who died of cancer and then got famous? If so, I absolutely concur, I've heard her stuff, it's wonderful.

I think she was born in Maryland. Anyways, she did become popular after her death. I'm glad someone else has heard of her! She is really, really wonderful.

Been on a retro kick the last few days: Louis Prima, Ella Fitzgerald, and a bit of Louis Armstrong. I may have mentioned her before, but Nina Simone is still circulating regularly in my cd player as well. She is sadly underappreciated; probably my favorite 'mood music' of all time.
