Many years ago...I had two particular decks that were my favorites. Keep in mind, both of these were born of wierd ideas that didn't necessarily involve winning, just doing something crazy and having a good time (of course, this is when I started getting bored of the "scene" around here, and my magic days were numbered).
The first was an all-artifact and all-urza's land deck. It was a great multi-player deck that generated LOTS of mana and had some pretty good defense mechanisms. The centerpiece was a pair of Grinning Totems that allowed me to take control of an opponents card. I'd then just find the guy who was playing with fireballs and fireball everyone out of existance.
Second one was a blue deck that revolved around a LOT of control spells and had no creatures except for two Polar Krakens (11/11). I had a few polymorphs in there as well, and I'd polymorph a creature I had control of, and throw a Kraken in play for free. It was fun.
Three paragraphs on Magic cards. I feel dirty.

Hehe. Exposing little secrets....
During our move this weekend, we finally cleaned out the storage area. I found a Xerox paper box full of four or five binders, all full of Magic cards. They weren't mine.
The sad part is, even though I laughed, I might have been a little bit jealous.

We survived. We're in. It was utterly and painfully exhausting, and our house is a mass of boxes, but we did it. And we're not doing it again for a long, long, long time!!!!!!!!! But it's good

I don't think she saw the other box, which had the rest of my collection I actually traded some live bootleg CD's for someone's MTG collection, a few years back. Lots of cool stuff in there from later years, that I hadn't seen before - I stopped buying sometime around revised, after Ice age or chronicles (I think) came out.

a while ago, in yet another hijacked thread, a few Orson Scott Card books were recommended to me: Try out Card's anthology collection Maps in a Mirror. Also try Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Columbus. Yes, it involves time travel of sorts, but I really liked it. BladeStarr, Magill - I stopped by Barnes and Noble today, picked up both of these. Have a few trips coming up in the next month, will try to get through both of them soon. Thanks for the recommendations!!! -Howard

Out of the anthology, might I suggest the following stories to delve into first. These are relatively short and show his varied talents.
"Mortal Gods": An interesting look at religion from the perspective of immortal aliens. Also one of the best short stories I've ever read.
"Eumenides In The Fourth Floor Lavatory": The creepiest story I've ever read. I still see flipper-babies out of the corner of my eyes at night.
"Middle Woman": A tale of a woman, a dragon, and being happy with your life as is.
"Kingsmeat": A gruesome story not for the faint of heart, but with a very strong philosophical and moral bent.

Hm. Well, at least Cam's polite. I have no idea, but I could have sworn someone here on the Forum actually used that "Ghandi threw a punch" line as their sig file a while ago. Any ideas, anyone?

Ah ha! I've dropped him an email.
This is, of course, assuming our guest is coming back to check on his/her answer. Hm. Maybe I'm too eager.
Ah well!

Bah ha ha! That's so funny, I'm a needed source. Anyway, I'll throw you an email, but everyone else that's curious: The song is called "Gahndi Youth" by the band COF (chains of freedom). I'd post the web address, but it has a naughty word in the address.
Basically it's F***COF.com

Well COF's domain name does not seem to be working right now, but I was able to find a "mirror" (?) site that seems to be official. Here's the URL www.geocities.com/cofband2/

And here is the URL which contains lyrics to the aforementioned song. However, upon careful reading of the painful-to-read lyrics, I can find no mention of the aforementioned line. I'm confuzzled??? www.geocities.com/cofband2/lw6.html
